A quality education & educational options are key to achieving the American Dream and it lays the foundation for a thriving & more prosperous America.
The purpose of K-12 education is to help students discover, develop, and apply their unique abilities, establishing a foundation for a life of contribution and fulfilment. All students should have access to a quality education that helps them move forward on the path to self-actualization. To reach this goal, the education sector can and should be a dynamic system where the open exchange of ideas, experimentation, and innovation contribute to improved outcomes. Where educators respond to the needs of individual students and create safe, inclusive environments where they can thrive. In the ideal state, students and families are free to pursue the educational options that work best for them – and educators are empowered to be principled entrepreneurs who are rewarded when they transform the lives of students. In such a mutually beneficial system, then ALL students can pursue education tailored to their individualized needs and are much more likely to become self-actualized over the course of their lives.
The LIBRE Institute supports more learning options that can serve your children effectively, regardless of their financial circumstances. The Hispanic community has a particular interest in expanding educational freedom and school choice. Innovation in education systems has created several options for families to enroll their children in the programs and learning environments that will inspire and prepare them to achieve their full potential.
School Participation and Achievement
School enrollment has increased among Hispanics. More and more every day Hispanic children are part of the total number of students enrolled in elementary and secondary schools.
In 2021, the percentage of Hispanics enrolled in traditional K-12 public schools was 28.4, almost 5% more than in the previous 10 years. Hispanics experienced a greater decrease in academic progress in reading and math compared to non-Hispanic students during the COVID-19 pandemic, (based on current national measures.) Transforming the education system and moving beyond a “one-size-fits-all” socialized education has the potential to benefit Hispanic families and all Americans.
Increasing Educational Options
Nearly 65% of Hispanic parents have considered different educational options for their children in the past year. More than 70% of Latinos support school choice. Most Hispanic parents believe that there are not enough educational options for their children. The expansion of educational freedom is crucial to the advancement of the Hispanic community and the development of a stronger nation.
School Choice
School Choice and parenting classes are a priority for The LIBRE Institute. We want our community of Hispanic students and parents to be aware of the opportunities they have and to seize them. The LIBRE Institute offers school choice workshops and activities as well as information and classes for parents.
Every child deservesa great educationand shot at the AmericanDream. The parentsand citizens paying taxes to pay for our schools, deserve a return on their investment. This means better educationand more education access for America’snext generation.
Families shouldn’t be left withoutoptions because of their incomeor zip code.
From talents to interests, every child is unique, and that’s something education should celebrate. Some children are interested in science or math, some love history, and still, others love sports. Diversity drives innovation, but it also means that not everyonelearns in the same way.
